Evergreen Highway Renovation

Set above the Columbia off Evergreen Highway, this home had the view but not the floor plan to live up to it. A product of a series of additions, the main level was a walled-in kitchen, a separate dining room and dated finishes throughout. We opened the main level up, trading strategic walls for structural beams, relocating the kitchen, and drawing clean sightlines from the cooking and gathering spaces straight out to the river. A warm, cohesive material palette carries throughout: custom alder and walnut cabinetry, natural quartzite, white oak floors, and layered lighting tuned to feel calm rather than busy. The kitchen anchors it all with a waterfall-edge island and full-height stone backsplash, while a speakeasy tucked just off it makes the space built for hosting. The primary suite was rebuilt around a freestanding tub set to the river window, a curbless tile shower, and quiet custom detail. The result is a home that finally lives the way its setting always promised — open, warm, and oriented to the water.
